Hello Everybody! :D

I am so glad you are visiting my website! 

 My name is Vanessa (she/hers) and I'm a scientist/artist from Denton, TX.

 
I  finished a M.S. in Biomedical Sciences at UNTHSC (with focuses in anatomical sciences and micro-CT scanners), and I am thrilled to announce that I was recently accepted into medical school. I am now living in the sunny city of Ft Lauderdale, FL!

I'm also an aspiring medical professional with interests in physiology, computer technology, electronics, astrophotography, and music. 

During summer 2022, I discovered one of the local libraries in Denton offered a free maker space as long as you had a library card. Within "The Forge," they have two Glowforge laser cutters that I have absolutely fallen in love with. See my interview with the city of Denton down below! I have found a new passion with laser cutting, being able to use these machines to cut and engrave woods, acrylics, leathers, and metals all with such extreme detail. 

One day while I was working in the cadaver lab getting ready for a structural neuroanatomy course, I had the idea to start making laser cut anatomical earrings for myself and my friends to wear. I wanted everyone to be wearing brains, while we were working with brains.

Since then, I have made many different organs into earrings and have also started making badge reels and pins (since not everybody has their ears pierced!)
